After five countries; Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, France and Belgium we are home again. No idea of the distance covered but I imagine somewhere in the region of 2,000 to 2,500 miles (3,200 to 4,000km) and yes, Belgium's roads, especially the one leading up to the Luxembourg border, is let us be polite, lacking in places! But UK roads are just as bad.
I did not get any writing done for The Petticoat Searchers - foolishly forgot to pack my laptop charger. I did begin to write a fun story on my phone - such a faff. So now that my laptop is once more acquainted with its charger, I have returned to TPS.
The world, as we all know, continues to be a nightmare - so many foolish people thinking war is the answer. Boys (old men) it is not. Never has been never will be. Greed and ego, greed and ego. Just have done with it and play marvin Gaye's What's Going On. As relevant now as it was then.
Oh, side note, it seems to have rained ever since we returned. The weather in Verdun (France) was really good. Fantastic blue sky. A nice contrast with snowy Germany.
Some pics below.
Momument to the dead of WW1 in Verdun. Very impressive against the blue sky.

Part of the old city wall/defences, Verdun

River Meuse flowing through Verdun

The Douaumont Ossuary outside Verdun, containing the remains of the soldiers who died during the Battle of Verdun, WW1.

Ypres (Leper) in Belgium is always our last stop before we return to the UK. Below is the medieval Cloth Hall that dominates the town square. Rebuilt after being alsmost completely destroyed during WW1.

Finally, a view along the old city walls of Ypres (Leper)
