Sparks and Sizzlin' heat

This week the UK is set to melt or is it just selected parts of England? Not sure. A red weather warning has been issued for south west England so one can expect to see a fair smattering of ill-prepared and broken down camper vans and caravans as well as overheated cars/vans/lorries/trucks littering the highways and byways. No doubt there will be a huge surge in the online purchase of electric fans - we don't tend to do domestic aircon here. Normally it's cold and wet!

Anyway, enough of all that. Last Thursday, I saw Sparks in Bristol. That's Sparks the band/group rather than random sparks from poorly maintained electrical equipment. And a very fine night it was too. A truly excellent gig that gave a much needed mood lift. Hopefully it won't be too long before they are back again.

And now, The Petticoat Serchers. I went back and did some revision to the last chapter I put up - was it nineteen? I decided to keep Tilley texturally female but with suggestions she may be other than female. The captain and bosun of the clipper ship are still proto-trans (naturally no such descriptor as trans in the 1800's) but I think it more interesting to only suggest such about Tilley.

I am still writing/constructing C20. In the opening paragraphs there is a lot of technical information to get in about the approach to Bristol docks from the (not quite) open sea. I'm not sure if it is too much detail? I have refined it somewhat but does it flow (pun!)

To offer a spoiler, the Prussian Colonel, Herr Oberst has made it to Bristol docks and is of course intent on mischief. But all that is to come. However, I have included a snippet of C20 in the draft available via the link on the front page. As ever, it is a pdf file with navigable chapters. And remember, this is all first draft stuff despite the various changes I (keep) making. Only at the end will I go back and rewrite. Enjoy and if you like it, buy me a coffee or just one of my other books.

Some pics of the mighty Sparks. Been around forever but still going strong! Beware the glare of Ron!
